Form Follows Fiction

A foundation class in typography with the brief to design a corporate identity system for e1, Interaction Design Institute Ivreaís exhibition unit. Knowing e1, its people, beliefs and working conditions it was obvious that ëForm follows functioní wouldnít quite do the trick. Ten students worked together as a group to address the different needs and media. They generated ideas together, inspired and debated with each other over the course of 13 weeks. Touring Turing

Graphical User Interfaces - An introduction to visual design and programming.
The brief (pdf 394 KB) was to design and code a graphical user interface (GUI) to the Turing Machine. This brief was drawn from chapter 3.2 of School Again, a book by Walter Aprile and Stefano Mirti (see WRITING). The project was to be developed in four weeks, from brainstorming to presentation. The students worked in groups of three to five through a steady and challenging sequence of class discussions and critiques, intermediate presentations and prototyping.
